Norton Hall, Downtown

The original Norton Hall associated with the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary was located in downtown Louisville on Broadway, between Fourth and Fifth Avenues. The seminary named the building in honor of George W. and William F. Norton, who donated over $60,000 for its construction. Constructed in 1893, Norton Hall contained the seminary’s lecture rooms, professors’ offices, and chapel.
