As the flagship Seminary of the Southern Baptist Convention, Southern has long supplied the Convention with able leaders. Listed below are SBC Presidents associated with Southern either as students or professors. Prior to 1932, each newly-elected SBC president presided over convention business immediately after the announcement of his election, and the following year’s meeting traditionally opened under the moderation of the previously-elected president until the new president secured a majority of ballots.
