Church Minutes Collection

Through the labors of Dr. Crismon, a noted historian of Kentucky Baptist life as well as the chair of the Kentucky Historical Commission and former seminary librarian, the library acquired a significant collection of manuscript minutes and records from Kentucky Baptist churches, some as early as 1785. Among the important church minutes in this collection: Burks Branch Church in Shelby County, KY (from 1801); Cox’s Creek Church in Nelson County, KY (from 1835); Forks of the Elkhorn Church, Franklin County, KY (from 1785); and Harrod’s Creek Church, Oldham County, KY (from 1818).
