J. B. Weatherspoon (1886-1964) taught Christian ethics and sociology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1929 to 1959. Weatherspoon served as a member of the Social Service Commission of the SBC.

The Weatherspoon Papers consist of five boxes of biographical materials, correspondence, lecture notes on the Old Testament, homiletics, and Christian sociology, published and unpublished manuscripts, miscellaneous clippings and pamphlets, and sermon illustrations, manuscripts and outlines. Archives staff has prepared an online finding aid.
